About NYTC

NYTC is an Auckland based theatrical training programme. Our team is dedicated to providing high quality professional standard musical theatre experiences to anyone aged 5 - 21. We aim to encourage all students to work to their full potential to develop and express their talents, foster an appreciation of musical theatre both as a performer and an audience member and to provide an opportunity to excel to all young people who wish to take part, regardless of their experience or level of skill.

Our company places great emphasis on encouraging each and every cast member to build their self confidence while striving to be the best that they can be. They are encouraged to push boundaries and to achieve their full potential while developing a new appreciation and enthusiasm for musical theatre. We hope that they go home on closing night feeling they have achieved something and with a group of newly acquired friends.

OUR TEAM

Our team are a group of young New Zealanders who are enthusiastic to share their passion for musical theatre with other young Kiwis. NYTC's staff includes a range of young people whose skills and talents cover all facets of performing as well as a unique ability to relate to each and every cast member. It is our intention to bring in "guest teachers" on a regular basis to provide our students with a range of experienced tuition.

PROGRAMME GOALS

• To bring self-confidence and life skills to young people through the theatrical arts.
• To provide the young people of Auckland with the opportunity to experience professional theatre.
• To nurture and encourage the talents of our students
• To promote the enjoyment of music, dance, and theatre throughout the community.
• To encourage the establishment of a supportive group, while understanding each child is an individual.
